Dear all

We would like to invite your school to participate in the fourth Schindler
Award 2010, a competition for students and schools of architecture in
Europe. Launched by Schindler under the theme "Access for All", the Award
has enjoyed considerable success since its inception during the European
Year of Disabilities 2003. It is held every two years and honors
outstanding Urban Mobility projects, judged by a professional jury.

The previous Schindler Award 2008 attracted applications from a total of
957 students from 95 architectural schools and universities in 22 European
countries. Information about the three previous awards can be found on the
website www.schindleraward.com.

The site of the fourth Schindler Award 2010 is in the vibrant German
capital, Berlin. At the moment the competition management and the jury
president, Prof. Françoise-Hélène Jourda, are creating a new competition
task. The students will have the challenge to create intelligent and
sustainable architectural solutions that enable people of all ages and
capabilities to benefit from barrier-free mobility in Berlin.

We would be delighted to have your school participate in the next
Schindler Award, which will start accepting applications in September
2009. The competition is open to all students in their last year of study
on a bachelor's course or those on a master's course at a European
university or college of architecture. For students, the Schindler Award
is a unique opportunity to develop a complex project for an authentic
site, and to present their ideas to an international jury of experts. For
schools, the Schindler Award offers a compelling way to create awareness
of barrier-free mobility and to position themselves as socially
responsible institutions.

Details about the Schindler Award 2010 will be published on the Schindler
Award website (www.schindleraward.com) as per the schedule below.
